The production of the cut-off knives takes place in several stages, as the piece has to be »rough machined”, which means about 0.1 mm of addition on the walls.
The material used is 1.2379, which is hardened to 60 HRc after roughing. After hardening, the piece is machined to achieve the desired sharpness and tolerances.
In the final stage, the piece must be protected with a ceramic coating.
